OV-RDT platform: Intelligent Platform for OV Screening
and Strategic Management
ð Abstract
Liver flukes (Opisthorchis viverini) are prevalent in the Mae Khong basin. Opisthorchiasis is
reported as the main cause of cholangiocarcinoma which is considered a severe disease with a high mortality
rate. The incident can be reduced by early detection and Opisthorchiasis treatment. With the advent of the
OV-RDT kit that effectively detects people with Opisthorchiasis via urine, we introduce the OV-RDT platform
for facilitating the kit usage tracking, OV screening process, and data management.
The platform consists of mobile applications for collecting the OV-RDT detection data, Artificial Intelligence (AI)
agents for ensuring decent image quality and valid OV-RDT kit interpretation, and the dashboard for strategic management.
For the mobile application, we developed an AI-based mobile application for Android and iOS that help capture and detect
the OV-RDT kit in the image using an inbuilt smartphone camera. For the AIâs, we constructed two AI models: AI to ensure
image quality and valid image and AI to identify the presence or absence of Opisthorchiasis infectious with four severity
level. For the Dashboard, the OV-RDT data including the diagnostic results of AI were collected through the mobile application
and will be stored on Information Support System and shown in the form of an automatic dashboard for analysis in epidemiology
and progress of screening patients infected in area-based and community.
The accuracies of AI for diagnostic Opisthorchiasis from OV-RDT in the two-class and five-class are 99.7% and 99.0%, respectively.
